Since our inception, Gen-D has stood at the intersection of law, technology, and social justice. We are a collective of legal experts, researchers, and technologists who believe that fundamental rights do not end where the internet begins.
As digital platforms increasingly govern public discourse and automated systems make life-altering decisions, the need for robust oversight and legal accountability has never been greater. We work to ensure that algorithmic transparency, data privacy, and freedom of expression are not just ideals, but enforceable rights.

Generation-D (Gen-D Rights) is a collective of legal experts, researchers, educators, and technologists. We are dedicated to empowering young people from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, as well as its diaspora across the Euro-Med area. Our goal is to equip youth to understand, claim, and fiercely defend their digital rights. We provide youth with the advanced knowledge and practical tools they need to stay safe online, actively challenge misinformation, and participate meaningfully in digital civic life.
Every young person possesses the inherent potential to change the world. Our job is to give them the precise tools and the confidence to do so through technology, advocacy, and community-driven innovation. Founded by Amal Shamoun, a dedicated youth activist, educator, and digital rights advocate from Jordan, Gen-D Rights was born out of a critical necessity. Amal recognized that while digital tools were rapidly expanding, digital literacy and rights protections were lagging dangerously behind.
Gen-D doesn't work in isolation. We collaborate with a global ecosystem of civil society partners, academic institutions, and grassroots communities.
